Production - Feedback
After making my first rough cut I decided to get some target audience feedback from some peope at my school:
Charlotte- When watching the trailer
Charlotte stated some of the establishing shots were shaky and changed the
quality of the trailer and changes the attention of the audience from the main
focus of the farmer and farming life. She also stated that the trailer needed
music to make the shots flow more affectively and connect with the interest of
the audience. The soundtrack is important to make the audience more involved
and connected to the main focus of farming. She found the shots clear and
focused and the conventions matched to farming.
Haleena- She stated that the rough cut
showed clear connections relating with the location and genre. She liked how
the shots connected with one another and created an importance with the trailer
of main focus. However, she found the trailer without music allowed the footage
to drag and allowed her to lose interest in watching as music would of allowed
the shots to flow more. The trailer needs typography to connect the audience
with the title and genre of the film.
Phoebe- From viewing the trailer Phoebe stated
that the trailer is too long and a conventional trailer is 2:00 minutes long
where as a short is up to 5:00 minutes which matches the conventions more. She
stated the shots connected with the conventions of a farming documentary and
follow to the story line.

Production - Editing Software
Imovie- We will use this software to edit our movie as we both have experience using this software from last year creating an opening to a movie. We find this software high quality and easy to use due to the layout that is easy and quick to use. Helping us have good time management.
LiveType- We will use this software to edit titles as we have experience from last year with this software. I find it easier to use and the layout is clearer. The Titles will be quicker to edit as the software is quick and modern way to get high quality typography to link to our genre and theme of Farming.

Production - Filming Day 2 - 12/01/15
We were able to film a lot of footage today. However we were not able to film the sunset footage we wanted. Therefore we will be visiting the farm soon to shoot some more. As well as that, it was the first time both of us have used this equipment, so we might have to film some more if the footage we have taken is out of focus or too fast. We kept to our health and safety spec and also made sure that it was okay to go to specific part of the farm with the farmer. As it had been raining in the morning the ground was muddy and slippery, so we took care not to fall over or drop any of the equipment.
Production - Catering
So that we would be able to film successfully we needed to keep warm as it is the beginning of January the temperature is quite low and clothes will keep us relatively warm, however at linch time we do need a warm meal inside us. Therefore I made a pasta based dish. This was because pasta is quite filling and always keeps people warm.

Production - Filming Day 1 - 12/01/15 - Cancellation/ Weather
Due to heavy and constant rain we decided that we were not going to film. This was decided by both of us as we did not want the equipment to get wet. As well as that we did not think that the quality of the filming would be good with rain in some of the shots. As well as the shots, the lighting would have also been effected. As it was overcast, the lighting would have been distorted and possibly dark. The amount of shooting hours would have been effected massively. Instead of having a full day of filming, we would have lost at lest two hours of filming. Finally there will have been a higher risk of slipping as the mud will have been very wet and slimy.
Planning for next day shoot
As we will be at school in the morning, we will not have the rain effect us. It is only forecast to rain in the morning and become clearer into the afternoon.
This is good because we can start filming straight as we get there and not have to wait around for the brightest weather for the camera.

Planning - Transport
As I am able to drive and we will not have that much equipment am able to take everyone to and from location. In my schedule I will plan in time to get home and to go to location.
This is the car that we will be using.

Planning - Risk Assessment
There are many risks that are around us in everything we do. Whilst filming in different locations there are different risks and they all have to be looked at and made preventable, if they can. All the time there will be a first aid kit on set and I am First Aid at work trained so I will cover all of the first aid.

To prevent this I will be constantly looking at the weather and if
it says that there is a possibility of it being wet then I will be taking waterproof

As the road is very quiet near where we will be filming, therefore
the risk is only medium, however we will still take precaution when crossing
